Summer term 2021 Arrangements

We hope to manage a return to playing music together in person starting off with sectional rehearsals as soon as the Covid situation allows (after May 17th). Strings will be playing one week and woodwind/brass/percussion the next.  Instead of an end of term concert we will be recording two end-of-term performances in Shottery memorial hall on July 4th without audience and subsequently sharing the video’s on this website.

We have done an SSO Covid-19 rehearsal-risk-assessment and a resultant SSO Covid-19 rehearsal procedure June 2021 which all players must follow.

Also here for completeness are the Shottery Memorial Hall Covid-19 Risk Assessment v3 and Shottery Memorial Hall hirers covid agreement.

Due to the limited number of players that can be safely accommodated in the Memorial Hall with 2m social distancing (24 plus Dan) and to ensure we can pre-allocate seating positions, it will be necessary for players to pre-register for rehearsals using the link below. This link will become active 14 days before the rehearsal date with places allocated on a first come first served basis.

Until then we will continue with “The listening project” with Dan on a Friday evening on Zoom.  Some of the session involve playing along (on mute) and Dan’s talks are recorded and will be accessible from links below after the event if you don’t make it live:
