While we very much appreciate visiting players helping us out, as a community orchestra we do not normally pay a “fee” to visiting amateur players who don’t self-identify as working
musicians.
For visiting players travelling more than 20 miles (each way), we do offer to pay parking and petrol/diesel costs at 25p/mile so that they are not left unduly out of pocket.
Visiting players who are not working musicians are encouraged to attend several rehearsals in advance of the concert where possible.
